Four In Hand Barossa Valley Shiraz
Barossa Valley, SA
Powerful blackberry, cassis, mocha, ironstone and clove spice perfume. A palate of black fruits in complex harmony with raspberry cola and espresso, fine deep tannins and well-judged oak. A delicious Shiraz with loads of everything, yet remains refined and elegant.
Tony Love Review:
Another of winemaker Chris Hancock’s creations under the Robert Oatley company umbrella, here sourced from both Barossa Valley floor and Eden Valley vineyards. There’s a lot to like about this wine from a cooler vintage that has revealed over time a more measured and medium toned style in many Barossa reds. The Eden Valley fruit adds an immediate lifted aroma of dark, spiced plum and berry, all of which flows right into a rich, juicy palate with a mildly chewy mouth feel, medium to fuller bodied at most. In the right dining company – red meats, char-grilled – this makes for a very attractive companion. Drink: Now - 2028. Rating: 94/100.
