Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling
Margaret River, WA
Vitality and clarity on the palate, cut limes and lemons are threaded throughout. It is finely textured, giving delicate dimension combining with a mineral acid structure, leading to a talc finish.
Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion
Margaret River makes a tiny amount of riesling. It's beautiful though, and quite different from the Great Southern and South Australian examples. Lime blossom, coriander, hints of lychee and spring blossom. Galangal, kaffir leaf. The Indian Ocean makes a briny impact on the juicy acidity. Sesame seed. Green apple and talc. Incredibly pretty and bright, but soft, too. This has precision, but not a retina-burning laser like Great Southern iterations. Plushness and plumpness is the order of the day. Low yields, small bunches and small berries. Supple. Subtle.
